Steve Sullivan scored two goals and Pekka Rinne made 20 saves to lead the Nashville Predators to a 2-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night. Nashville outshot Montreal 55-20 and the Predators have won two straight and six of their past eight. Montreal has dropped four of six. The 55 shots are a franchise record for Nashville.

When you have a goalie like Miikka Kiprusoff, sometimes one goal is all you need. Calgary captain Jarome Iginla provided the only offence, and the Flames rode Kiprusoff and their crushing defence the rest of the way as they shut down the hometown Montreal Canadiens 1-0 on Tuesday night.

Is there anything more rare in the NHL these days than a regulation win by the Montreal Canadiens? How about a goal by the Boston Bruins? Or a victory by Canadiens goaltender Carey Price? Well, Boston finally found the net Thursday night, but it was Price who got the last laugh after stopping three Bruins in the shootout for a 2-1 win.

Thrashers Deny Habs Sixth Home Win

Brian Gionta scored two goals, but it wasn't enough to give the Montreal Canadiens another victory after a five-game home winning streak. The visiting Atlanta Thrashers ultimately dominated in a 5-4 triumph over the Habs on Tuesday night.

The Montreal Canadiens saw their rival Toronto Maple Leafs come back from the dead on Saturday but like a plucky teen heroine in a scary movie, the hometown Habs dealt the killing blow in the shootout for a 5-4 victory on Halloween.
